When can I begin filing forms?

You can begin filing as soon as easy2efile is able to release the current year's forms, typically in late November or early December. You do not have to wait until January to file your forms.

How do I pay for forms I wish to submit?

Simply enter your credit card information at checkout. Easy2efile supports real-time credit card processing and accepts all major credit cards. For increased security, easy2efile does not store your credit card information, nor does it make it accessible on the site for future orders.

How long does it take for recipients to receive their forms?

It takes 2-3 business days to process and mail submitted forms. Recipients can expect to receive their copies within 5-7 business days after mailing.

  • Orders placed on or before 10 a.m. EST on January 29th will be processed and mailed by the January 31st deadline.
  • Starting February 11th, forms are processed every Monday morning and postmarked within 3 business days of process date.

Can I obtain copies of forms after I file them?

Once your forms have been submitted with payment, you will be able to print your copies or simply save them in PDF format.

Important Dates & Deadlines

You can start filing as soon as we release the current year's forms, typically in November or early December. You do not have to wait until January to file your forms, as long as the contractor or employee has completed all work for the calendar year and you have all the required information at hand. To get a head start on the process, you can create an account and set up payers and recipients any time.

Filing Multiple Clients?

You can set up an unlimited number of payers and recipients under a single account. When filing a form, simply select the payer and recipient from the drop-down boxes on the form. All contact information will be filled in automatically.

ACA 1094-B/C Forms

If filing ACA Form 1095-B, you do not need to file Form 1094-B. As part of our e-file process, we compile the summary data required on Form 1094-B and transmit it along with your 1095-B forms.

If filing ACA Form 1095-C, you MUST file form 1094-C. Easy2efile does not automatically compile the summary data required on this form.

Edits or Corrections

Correction Types We Support
If you discover the error after we have e-filed the form with the IRS, you can file a 1099 Correction if the form was a 1099-MISC, 1099-INT, 1099-DIV, 1099-S or 1098, and the error was a "Type 1" (dollar amount) error. You can also correct W-2 dollar amount errors with the W-2C form on our site. If you discover the error before we have e-filed the form with the IRS, you can edit the form for a nominal fee of $1.95. Just pull up the form, make the change and resubmit it. Forms 1094-C, 1095-B and 1095-C cannot be edited once submitted.

You do not need to have e-filed on our site in order to use our site to make corrections.

Corrections After Mailing

You cannot change any information entered into a form once you have checked out and paid for our service until after the IRS has accepted the form. Once the IRS has accepted the form, you can make Type 1 (dollar amount) corrections. If you submit a correction, remember to select e-file and delivery if you want a corrected copy mailed to the recipient.

What is most important is that the IRS receives accurate information, so we encourage all customers to correct data in their forms as their own recipients’ report errors, prior to checking them out and submitting payment. As part of our online filing service, we electronically submit your filings as they are checked out and paid for on our website.

State Filing

Combined Federal/State Filing Program

We automatically file Form 1099-MISC, 1099-DIV, 1099-INT, 1099-B and 1099-R under the Combined Federal/State Filing Program. This program can save you the extra step of filing separately in these states;AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DE, GA, HI, ID, IN, KS, LA, ME, MD, MA, MI, MN, MS, MO, MT, NE, NJ, NM, NC, ND, OH, OK, SC, VT, WI.

Direct-to-State Filing Supported States

Direct-to-State filing allows customers to file their 1099-MISC and W-2 forms with states that do not participate in the Combined Federal/State Program. We currently support Direct-to-State filings for the following forms in certain states:

• 1099-MISC: Oregon and Rhode Island
• W-2: Georgia, Illinois and Michigan

Direct-to-State Pricing Info

We offer this service as an add-on charge of $1.00 per form, regardless of the number of states being filed in one form. Example: if you file a W-2 that has 3 states populated, your Direct-to-State add-on charge for that form is $1.00. If you file only 1 state on that form, your charge is still $1.00 in addition to the filing fee per form.

City and Local Filing

We automatically file form types 1099-DIV, 1099-INT, 1099-MISC and 1099-R in the IRS' Combined Federal/State Filing Program, which makes the form data available to the states that participate in the program. We do not e-file or mail city or local copies for you. To comply with non-participating states, or city and local requirements, you may need to print a copy of your forms and mail them to these agencies.

Not all states participate in this program, including tax-free states such as Nevada, Florida, Washington and Wyoming. If you have questions regarding state filings, we suggest that you talk with your accountant or attorney for clarification.

Direct-to-State Corrections

We do not support corrections for state data, only Federal corrections.

However, if you haven't checked out with your forms yet, you can still go back and edit your state data. Once you have checked out those forms, you can only edit state data if we haven't filed your forms with the state yet. Please refer to the 'Filed on' date on your Filed Forms page.

Direct-to-State Reconciliation Forms

Reconciliation forms are not available on our site.

Some states require additional forms to be filed, such as the Form W-R with the State of Oregon. To remain in compliance with your state's regulations, those types of forms need to be filed separately.

Do I need to file Form 1096 or W-3?

As part of our e-file process, we compile the summary data required on Form 1096 or W-3 and transmit it along with your forms. You don’t have to prepare anything for these two forms.

The moment you sign up or log in to our website, your data remains secure.

For increased security, we do not store your credit card information, nor do we make it accessible on the site for future orders. Additionally, your recipient, payer and form data are only used to process your forms.
